2018년에 야외 행진 (퍼레이드) 행사로 시작된 서울드랙퍼레이드 메인 행사가 2020-2021에는 코로나19 팬데믹으로 인해 온라인 행사로만 진행이 되었었는데요, 팬데믹으로 인한 규제가 완화된 올해에는 콘서트 행사로 대체되기는 하였으나 다시 오프라인 상에서 열렸습니다. 홍대에서 무려 2회차에 걸쳐 열린 콘서트가 매진될 정도로 많은 분들께서 관심을 가지고 찾아주시고 행사를 즐겨주신 것에 다시 한번 감사의 말씀을 드립니다.
제5 회를 맞이한 서울드랙퍼레이드의 2022년도 메인 행사였던 서울 드랙 콘서트 2022에서는 드랙퀸 허리케인 김치가 오프닝과 엔딩 공연과 사회를 맡았으며, 서울 각지에서 활발히 활동하시는 다양한 9인의 드랙 아티스트 분들께서 공연자로 참여해 본인들의 예술 세계를 공유해주시고 최고의 엔터테인먼트를 선사해 주셨습니다.
책과 영화를 통해 그 이름이 널리 알려진 무려 20년차 경력의 드랙퀸 모어, 미국 드랙 경쟁 프로그램인 드래귤라 시즌4에서 결승전까지 올라 전 세계의 시선을 한 몸에 받고 있는 월드스타 호소 테라 토마, 이태원의 여러 게이 클럽에서 오랜 시간 동안 꾸준히 실력을 갈고 닦으며 그 존재를 알려온 아네싸, 드랙킹 콘테스트를 기획하고 운영하며 드랙킹의 가시화에 힘써주고 계신 진정한 페미니스트 아장맨, 서울퀴어문화축제에서도 공연을 하셨었고 이제는 이태원에서 드랙 공연 무대가 있는 바를 운영하고 계신 보리님, 해방촌에서 한국인들과 외국인들이 함께 어우러지는 다양성이 가득한 퀴어 커뮤니티를 조성하는 데에 앞장서고 계신 앨리슨 마틴과 사프론 레인, 고등학생 때부터 다양한 행사 및 미디어 활동에 참여해 온 끼가 넘치는 드랙퀸 수라, 그리고 올 해 익선동 야간개장의 드랙 콘테스트에서 우승을 거머쥔 초이 프라이데이까지 가지각색의 재능과 스타일을 보유한 드랙 아티스트분들께서 함께 해 주셨습니다.
서울드랙퍼레이드는 연 1회 열리는 메인 행사 외에도 연중 꾸준히 한국과 영국에서 드랙 및 LGBTQ+ 행사들과 공연들을 기획하고 주최하니 인스타그램, 트위터, 페이스북에서 팔로우하시고 앞으로 열릴 멋진 행사들과 펼쳐질 활동에 많은 관심 보여주시길 바랍니다.

Seoul Drag Parade’s main annual event first kicked off in 2018 with an outdoor parade but was held online from 2020 - 2021 due to the COVID-19 global pandemic. This year, as restrictions were eased, it was held offline again but in the form of a concert. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who showed interest and attended our two sold-out shows in Hongdae.
At Seoul Drag Concert 2022, the main event of the 5th Seoul Drag Parade, drag queen Hurricane Kimchi was the host as well as the opening and closing act. Nine more active drag artists from around Seoul also performed, sharing their art to provide top tier entertainment.
We were joined by a variety of drag artists with different styles and performances, including drag queen More, whose twenty-year career has been widely referenced in books and movies, and global star Hoso Terra Toma, who reached the finale of American drag competition show Dragula Season 4, making waves all over the world. Anessa, who has been showing off skillful performances in gay bars all over Seoul for many years, Azangman, the incredible performer who organises the famous Drag King Contest, and Bori, who has performed at Seoul Queer Culture Festival and runs a drag bar in Itaewon, also performed on the day. The lineup was rounded out by Alison Martin and drag king Saffron Reign, who are at the forefront of the diverse queer community in Seoul’s Haebangchon as well as Sura, a talented young drag queen who has been performing since high school, and the winner of our drag contest at Gay Universe Night in Seoul - Choi Friday!
